ようやく聴きたいWesにたどり着いたと思わせる1枚、Boss Guitar。

A Day In The LifeやCalifornia Dreamin'のようなストリングスを砂糖のようにまぶした甘いイージーリスニングとは違い、オルガンを抱えたトリオによるビターな1枚。

特に気に入ったのがFor Heaven's SakeとDays Of Wines And Rosesのようなバラード調の曲。これのWesの柔らかだけど芯の太い音色がいいが、オルガンがまたいいスパイスとなっている。

やっぱりWesは初期というか前期を聴け、ということか。
